Stillroom borrows its name from the small chamber in old country houses where tinctures, cordials and remedies were once distilled and bottled. Here that chamber's shelf is laid open: stoppered vessels holding woodland finds, each specimen observed with a botanist's patience. A frog pauses at the edge of the scene and a long-antennaed beetle crosses the foreground, adding a flicker of life to the still arrangement. The lettered greeting beneath turns the study into a seasonal welcome without tipping into cartoon fright. It is Halloween for people who prefer folklore and field notes to plastic skeletons.
