Zucca is simply the Italian word for pumpkin, and this mural has the unfussy generosity of a market stall at the turn of the season. Three round pumpkins of different sizes huddle together with a long-necked squash, while a sunflower and a few fallen acorns tuck in at their feet. The brushwork is soft and unhurried, letting paint pool along every rib and fade at the edges as if it were finished at the kitchen table one late afternoon. Rather than anything spooky, it celebrates abundance, gathering and long lunches that roll on into the evening.
Which rooms would this wallpaper complement beautifully?
In a Kitchen, the hand-painted pumpkins and squash bring market-stall abundance and a fresh, seasonal feel to the wall above a bench or breakfast table.
In a Dining Room, the generous harvest still life sets a welcoming mood for long autumn suppers and festive gatherings.
The arrangement forms a low, wide pyramid: the tallest pumpkin anchors the centre, two smaller ones flank it left and right, and the squash and sunflower spill forward into a layered foreground, while vine tendrils curl up and outward to give the cluster lift and movement. From across the room it reads as one bountiful still life of clear, rounded forms; up close the watercolour reveals its making, with soft blooms where the paint pooled, pencil-fine outlines around each leaf, ridged stalks and the stippled heart of the sunflower. Because the produce sits on an open, airy ground, the mural reflects daylight generously and keeps a room feeling fresh, while evening lamplight brings out the gentle shading on each rounded fruit until the group looks almost sculptural. Its horizontal spread and ample negative space widen a wall and suit long, low furniture, and the oversized produce lends a friendly closeness to an open-plan space. Partner it with scrubbed oak, woven rush and wicker, stoneware crocks, linen napkins, hammered brass and a bowl of real squash on the sideboard. Position it above a long table or a kitchen bench so the central pumpkin lines up with the middle of the furniture, leaving the top margin free to breathe. Your mural is printed to measure, so the harvest group can be centred exactly on the wall you choose.
