October Lantern, sarkans

The composition is anchored by the wide, rounded crown, which fills almost the full width and leans slightly to the right, where one long lower bough stretches out toward the bright lunar disc that balances the upper corner. From the doorway it reads as a single bold shape set against the night; up close you discover individual leaves, hairline twigs, the speckled face of the moon and a canvas grain running through the whole surface. Contrast is high between the luminous moon, the dense foliage and the deep sky, so daylight makes the leaves feel crisp and lively, while evening lamplight lets the background sink away and the tree step forward. Because the line of grasses sits low and the crown spreads overhead, furniture placed against the wall seems to stand in the field, and a modest room gains a sheltered, tucked-in feeling. Chunky knitted throws, washed linen, oiled oak, wrought iron and a sheepskin underfoot all suit its cabin-at-nightfall mood. Hang it as one feature wall behind a headboard or facing a reading chair, and keep the neighbouring walls plain so the scene has room to breathe. Each mural is printed to your exact measurements, so you decide where the moon lands and it is never lost behind a wardrobe or cut by a window frame.
