The scene is built in receding bands, with dense, sharply focused conifers filling the lower third, a luminous belt of fog sweeping diagonally through the middle and faint, ghostlike crowns marching along the ridge above. Across a room it reads almost like a soft-focus abstract, all depth and atmosphere; up close you find individual spires, drooping branch tips and the bare tracery of a lone dead snag rising through the haze. Because the brightest area is the fog itself, the mural appears to glow from within by day, while evening lamplight settles into the darker lower woodland and wraps the wall in a deep, enveloping hush. That strong sense of distance pushes the wall back visually, so a compact room gains breathing space and a low ceiling feels less confining as the rising vapour carries the eye upward.
