Bisou, ピンク

Two layers do the work here: a field of horizontal boards lays down a steady architectural base, and over it the crosses fall in an irregular, confetti-like spread, varied in size and tilt, so the movement comes from the marks while the calm comes from the planks. At a distance the wall reads as a lively, evenly sprinkled texture with faint horizontal banding; step in and the board seams, round knots, brushed-out grain and the dry, tapered ends of each pen stroke come into view. The soft, matt painted finish and crisp contrast of the marks keep it legible in dim corners and fresh in daylight, while raking side light picks out the suggestion of grain so the boards look almost touchable. Those plank lines gently widen a narrow wall, and the scattered crosses keep the eye moving so a small room never feels boxed in. Pair it with rattan baskets, enamel hooks, washed cotton bedding, simple beech furniture and a cheerful jumble of patterned textiles. Give it the wall behind a child's bed or the one above a bath or vanity, or let it wrap a tiny cloakroom where its good humour can fill the space. Every mural is printed to your exact wall size, so the boards sit level and the crosses run cleanly to each edge.
