Everything in the frame converges on a single point: the walls, ceiling seams and tyre-worn floor all run toward a bright rectangle where the tallest figure stands at the centre with two smaller companions on either side. Seen from across the room, the mural reads as a bold play of darkness and glow with a trio of silhouettes at its heart; closer in, the water stains on the concrete, the grit of the gravel verge and the faint shadows stretching toward the viewer come through. With the brightest area in the middle and the edges falling into near darkness, daylight makes the tunnel mouth seem to radiate, while low evening light lets the walls dissolve until the figures appear to float out of the haze. The strong one-point perspective adds apparent depth, so a short corridor seems to run on far past its end and a small study gains a sense of distance. Brushed steel, poured concrete, matte lacquer, smoked glass and worn leather all suit its industrial mood. Place it on the end wall of a passage or behind a desk where the vanishing point sits at eye level, and keep the lighting low and directional to heighten the effect.
